Dr Uschi Klein is a Senior Lecturer at University of Brighton, UK. Her research focuses on photography during Romania’s communist era with a specific interest in exploring marginalised voices and hidden histories of the country’s past. Her research outputs include photography exhibitions in Romania and Sweden, as well as peer-reviewed publications. In 2023, Klein was a Visiting Research Fellow in the Department for Media and Communication Studies at Södertörn University in Stockholm, Sweden, and in 2025, she was awarded the Visegrad Scholarship at the Open Society Archive in Budapest, Hungary.
